Getting rid of my Nexus 10
« on: May 12, 2013, 01:42:53 PM »
I bought the nexus 10 before xmas last year and it's been great.  The spec is ideal.

But now I'm getting rid.

Why?

My service providers still don't support it nearly 6 months on.   They blame android fragmentation but I think there are other reasons at play i.e. LoveFilm (Amazon) have the app for Kindle Fire (android, yes) but not the Nexus.

Other services not working :

Rouxbe
Sky Go

Spotify think it's a mobile phone and hence try and charge me for the premium spotify app.

Much of the web still think it's a phone and give me crappy responsive designs (only workaround is to spoof).   Did not expect to be doing this after 6 months.

It's a real shame as the tablet is great.  But as a device is used to consume services if the services aren't there then it's a waste of hardware.

It's a shame google don't work with content providers as doing so would probably help them sell more hardware.

Goodbye Nexus hello windows ultrabook

Unfortunately, we are somewhat the red headed child in the Nexus series. I love my Nexus 10, but Google's choice of pricing did not generate the consumer purchase volume that we have seen with the Nexus 7.

Edit: Yes I made the post from my Nexus 7.  Just an acknowledgement before someone notices it.

Agreed...I think they should drop the price to $299 in the next version.
