Multiple Leaks Point To Asus Made Nexus 10 Release This Fall
« on: August 09, 2013, 07:06:00 PM »

Now that the recently released 2nd generation Nexus 7 is behind us, attention is turning to the Nexus 10 and today we've got several different sources reporting that in fact the 2nd generation of Google's 10 inch tablet will in fact not be made by Samsung, but by Asus...the same manufacturer of the Nexus 7.  According to a retail screen capture at Geek.com, at least one version of the Nexus 10 can be seen on a retailer's system with the brand saying 'Asus', the Model 'Nexus 10 16G' and the Description 'Google Nexus 10'.  Now this information is coming from Russell Holly, who is the same guy who originally leaked that Google Play versions of the HTC One and Galaxy S4 would be coming, so he has a solid track record of revealing info.

Now not a lot is known about the technical details of a 2nd generation Nexus 10, but if you asked us to speculate we'd say we're probably looking at an upgraded processor...perhaps a quad core Snapdragon 800, the same resolution 2560 x 1600 display and most likely a lot of emphasis put on battery life.  The first Nexus 10 was built like a tank and gets generally high marks for its hardware and performance.  We don't see a necessity to increase the screen resolution, although we could see improved camera specs and speakers as well and most likely an LTE version to be made available, possibly with similar hardware as on the New Nexus 7.  We also wouldn't be surprised to see a price drop, perhaps to the $299 or $349 level for the 16GB model with the 32GB model at $50 more.  This would undercut the iPad and competing 10 inch tablets more dramatically and could really kick-start 10 inch Android tablet sales which have not had as much success as the 7 inch form factor, led by the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire tablets.
