KitKat 4.4. 1 update failed
« on: November 21, 2013, 04:33:34 AM »
Just received the KitKat update via OTA, but it failed to install with a removexattr error:

Unpacking new recovery...

Symlinks and permissions...
ApplyParsedPerms: removexattr of /system/app/BasicDreams.apk to 0 failed: Operation not supported on transport endpoint

Anyone have any ideas please?

My Nexus 10 is rooted running KitKat and I have TWRP installed as my recovery.

TIA.

My update to KRT16S is not completing as well, I am working on it. Although my update is failing for different reasons. CBers, have you tried removing the Basic Dreams app?

I did think about it, but wasn't sure if I should.

I turned off the survival mode in SuperSU, but it still failed.

Fortunately, it still booted.

I'm away for the weekend a bit later, so will try again when I'm home.

Let us know how you get on.

I downloaded the OTA and sideloaded with the Skippen toolkit, but I had to use the stock recovery because it failed with TWRP.

OK. Is that Mark's Unified Toolkit?

I tried it the other day to flash KK onto my 10, but couldn't get it to work, so used Wug 's.

Did you then have to re-root and install TWRP again?

I used the Unified Toolkit and it loaded a temporary stock recovery and flashed the OTA, so I did not have to flash TWRP again. I did lose root, but simply selected option 4 in the toolkit and restored root.
