Nexus 10 Help / Battery life
« on: August 24, 2017, 07:22:47 AM »
Searched the forum on battery life and not much there.  My N10 is 4 years old with heavy use; I expect a decrease in time when the battery is exhausted.  I'm down to 1 hour and 15 minutes.  Installed battery monitor app with a graph of percent charge (100% to 0%) vs time.  Found it very interesting.  From 100% the charge went down at a 45 angle to about 65 % over an hour and 15 minutes; then 'Power Off" appeared the my N10 shut down.  Put the N10 on charger and rebooted after 30 minutes.  The graph showed the charge went from 65% straight down to 0%; then on the charger, it went from 0% to 35% over about 20 minutes with a 30 degree angle and then straight up to 100%.  It appears I have 35% use of the battery after 4 years.  Is there any way to recondition this battery to recover its potential?

My N10 logs in to my WiFi and the internet, but I can't get it to log on to my Homegroup. Anyone know how? Thanks.

All my computers are on the same homegroup and I can work on files on other computers. Can I get my N10 to do this?

I have downloaded .mov files but have not found an App to play them. Installed several high rated apps that claimed to play .mov, but no luck. Any thoughts?

Nexus 10 Apps / Alarm clock tied to Outlook
« on: March 25, 2014, 07:18:58 AM »
Been doing all my email and appointments in MS Outlook on a desktop for donkey years.  Now have an android phone and this tablet which synchronize with Outlook very nicely.  My gripe is I miss appointments because the appointment notfification on my phone and tablet is a subtle 'ding' that I can miss.  Is there a raucous alarm clock app that will automatically grab my appointments out of MS Outlook and then 'wake the dead' with an alarm until turned off?

Thanks for the reply.  Looked up OTG and found it is not a common cable.  Found some online sources and they say the cable has to be used with a OTG compliant device. So I am guessing that the Nexus is compliant?

::)As a senior citizen, rooting a phone is pretty daunting. Do you know of anywhere I can get line by line instructions for a SPRINT HTC EVO 3G?  Also, how to link the Nexus 10 to it?

Have owned my 10 several weeks and have run into problems I need help with.  Google Now has been turned off from my domain, and Google Support has been more of a hindrance to fix it.  Then I can't find a no cost way to tether my 10 to my HTC EVO.  Will be looking for help with these. --Mike
