There's not one, but two Chromecast promotions going on right now that when combined end up being quite a deal.  First off, Google is offering any new Chromecast or Chromecast Audio buyer $20 in free Google Play Credit to use for your choice of music, movies or apps.   This offer is good for all new Chromecast purchases as long as they are activated by January 2nd, 2016.  But that's not all.  BestBuy is also offering their own promotion.  You can save $5 on a single Chromecast (now $30 instead of $35) or $15 on two Chromecast or Chromecast Audios when bought together for just $55 for both.  If you consider in addition to this discount you factor in the $20 in Google Play credit you're in effect getting two Chromecasts for $35...the normal price of one.  The Google Play Credit is good no matter where you purchase your new Chromecast as long as it's activated by 1/2/2016.  We've included the link below to Best Buy's Chromecast page where you can get this deal.  Then, once your Chromecasts arrive simply set them up and navigate over to Google's Chromecast page to redeem for your free $20 in Google Play Credit!

We're only a couple of days away from all our Nexus 10's being rejuvenated with the pending roll out of Android 5.0 Lollipop.  Google has been so kind as to make available the above quick start guide which is available to download for free from the Google Play Store at the link below.  The 62 page book is chock full of details about the coming new version of Android.  Now officially this is really a tutorial for new Android users.  But it's using the Android 5.0 Lollipop version as its base.  So from the the new 'material design' look, new icons,  the bevy of cool animations  to the new quick settings menu and more...everything you ever wanted to know about Android 5.0 Lollipop you can learn right now in preparation for the big day.   In addition to what's mentioned in the book we should also see battery life and performance improvements as well with the new version and the entirely new look of 'material design' will make you feel like you just took your Nexus 10 out of the box for the first time.

While it came out last year the Nexus 10 still is Google's largest Nexus tablet and its 2560 x 1600 display is still state of the art when it comes to Android tablets.  With its Exynos 5250 dual core 1.7GHz Arm processor, 2GB of RAM, 5 mp rear camera and 1.9mp front camera, front firing speakers and long lasting Li-Po 9000 mAh battery...the Nexus 10 is still one of the best 10 inch tablets out there.  Other features include a Mali T604 GPU for smoking graphics, upgradability to the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS, GPS with GLONASS, NFC, microUSB v2.0, Bluetooth and more.   This is a BRAND NEW unit...not refurbished and has the full Google warranty.  Grab em while they got em!

The Nexus 10 tablet is an awesome device.  With its still awesome 2560 x 1600 display, always up to date Android OS, fast processor and stereo speakers, there's only a few areas where we see complaints and most of those tend to be about the lack of expandable memory.  Let's face it, while there's been lots of debate about the reasons for Google to not include a MicroSD slot on their Nexus devices, there's no denying it would be nice to have at times. The SanDisk Connect Wireless Media Drive solves this problem by providing an easy, portable expandable memory solution in a tiny wifi enabled drive that you can carry with you in your bag, pocket or case and that provides a ton of extra memory for your Nexus 10 or any other wifi enabled device to connect to wirelessly.

Here's how it works:  The Wireless Media Drive has its own wifi networking chip so it creates a wifi network that you and up to 7 other mobile devices can all connect to simultaneously.   You can load pictures, documents, even stream movies from it and it has an 8 hour battery life per charge.  As the video below shows you can not only take your favorite catalog of movies or documents along but you can expand the memory by putting up to a 128GB SDcard in giving you a total of 192GB of memory.   That's the equivalent of 6 entire 32GB Nexus 10s in one tiny wifi streaming device.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/NGTZJH4Y8HE" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/NGTZJH4Y8HE</a>
While the video above shows the Wireless Media Drive being used with a different tablet, it works just as well with your Nexus 10

Now this isn't the first wifi portable battery powered drive we've seen, but it and its little brother, the SanDisk Connect Flash Drive are some of the smallest we've seen.  One trick the Wireless Media Drive can do that most others can't is that it accepts SD and MicroSd cards that can be plugged right in, say from a camera or other device and let you access your content on the go over the wifi network.  The SanDisk Connect Wireless Media Drive shown in the video above comes in 32GB or 64GB versions and there's also a smaller SanDisk Connect Flash Drive shown in the picture above that comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB for a little less cash .  One thing to note is that the flashdrive only has about a 4 hour battery life compared to the big brother's 8 hour and can only take MicroSD cards where its big brother can take full size SD as well.    The 64GB version of the SanDisk Connect Wirelss Media Drive can be found for $99 at Amazon at the link below with the 32GB costing as low as $79.99.   The SanDisk Connect Flashdrive is a little less with the 32GB version coming at $59.99 and a 64GB version at the same $99.

Both give you about a 150ft radius wifi network that multiple devices can connect to simultaneously but of course throughput is affected with multiple devices.  Our pick would be the 64GB version of the Wireless Media Drive.  While a tiny bit larger than the flashdrive, the additional 4 hours of battery life plus ability to take SD cards on the fly make it worth it.    Definitely a cool accessory for those that like to take collections of media on vacation or on the road with their Nexus 10.  We've linked to several of the options on Amazon below.

It's hard to know what to make of this latest Nexus 10 leak.  On the one hand, apparently several tech news sites were forwarded at least one of the above pics by an anonymous tipster along with some supposed details such as the new tablet being made by Samsung, including black and white versions and shipping with Android 4.5   Next we have the usually reliable @evleaks tweeting out a similar looking render below with similar facts included.   But as the day has gone one...it seems more and more people are questioning whether this is simply a hoax.   Both pictures look fairly generic, with front facing speakers and a thin bezel.  Interestingly, this afternoon @evleaks actually deleted their tweet citing his suspicion that it was a hoax.  What do you think?  Any chance this is real?  Even if not...do you like the design?

New Feature just added.   From now on you'll have a Facebook Like, Tweet and Google +1 button on the bottom center of the first post of all topics.  Should make it easier for people to share posts and articles they like.   I encourage everyone to do this as it helps get the word out about our forum.

Hi Gary, welcome to the forum.  I've edited your post as you asked the same question in the help board and this board is solely for introductions.  Happy New Year.

We want to wish everyone a Happy And Healthy New Year!
Thanks for making this the #1 Nexus 10 Forum and we look forward to seeing you all back here in 2014!

If you've got young kids around this holiday then you'll want to take advantage of this great sale that Disney is having on many of their most popular games and apps through the Google Play Store.  Many of their most popular titles such as Where's My Water, Monsters Inc. Run, Temple Run Oz, Where's My Perry and more are only 49 cents each.  Some such as The Muppets Show, Disney Hidden Worlds and Nemo's Reef are free.  Definitely worth taking advantage of these prices and grab yourself a few Disney titles as a stocking stuffer on your Nexus 10.  I personally recommend Temple Run: Brave and Wreck-It Ralph but heck, there's so many good titles here for both you and the kids I'm gonna grab a bunch more.

Just curious what bluetooth keyboards some of you are using with your Nexus 10 and what your thoughts are of their strengths and weaknesses.   I recently got the Microsoft Wedge Keyboard which is working well.
